This time of year (and anytime, really!) I adore a nice cup of hot Chai tea. Soothing and uplifting all at the same time, this tea is a perfect pick-me-up. In the past, I’ve always bought organic Chai tea bags and brewed the tea that way. But after Diane’s post, I really wanted to try making my own loose Chai tea. Unfortunately, Mountain Rose Herbs was sold out of several of the spices I needed. Rats!
Not being the patient type (at all), I proceeded over to Amazon where I found a loose Chai that I absolutely adore. This mix has a wonderful balance.
Frontier Loose Organic Chai Tea is fair trade certified and absolutely delicious. I’m hooked! I’ve been making it in my French press and it works beautifully. Best of all, this tea is priced for less than what I could buy the spices and make it myself, and it qualifies for Amazon super-saver free shipping. Yes!

Mmmm looks delicious Melissa! I just might have to try that brand. Are you making it with all milk? It's so good.
BTW, my mustard is up and is delish! I had some for dinner last night. Thanx!
Diane, I'm not making it with all milk, but a healthy dollop goes in to the finished brew. So good! I'm glad to hear you are enjoying your mustard. I must say that kefir has changed my life! It gives such a tremendous rise in gluten-free baking. I soak all my flours in kefir before making anything. FABULOUS!
There's nothing like a nice cup of tea, it really lifts the spirits.
I hope you'll share sometime about the kefir for soaking. I haven't tried it yet, but would love to learn from you!
I too LOVE chai this time of year. I love that with all the spices in it, it's super healthy as well.
I don't usually make mine with milk at all, just like regular tea.
Thanks for the recommend, I usually buy the Mt Rose Herbs brand.
Ann, I completely agree! I have MANY different teas in my cupboard waiting for the urge to hit. I just had a cup of chamomile this evening...ahhh.
Diane, I've got you covered! Just posted my muffin recipe. : )
Suzy, I'm glad you stopped by. My plan was to order some herbs and spices from Mountain Rose, but I'm hoping they'll restock some of the ones I want soon. One shipment is much more economical. I haven't tried their Chai yet, I'll have to add it to my list.
